- My many forays into VB scripting for pulling information out of Active Directory - especially when you are a semi-hostile user and have no admin rights… I’ve written scripts to:
- Connect to the PDCe for a domain and retreive current copies of certain GPOs, logging version changes
- Write Excel reports on the above
- List the GPO GUIDs and their friendly names
- Open GPTMPL.INF, convert it from Unicode to ASCII and then turn the User Rights Assignment SIDs into usernames
- Given the name of a group, find the OU it is in
- Given the DN of a group, find the members (nesting, if groups are members)
- SID2User - given a SID, return DOMAIN\USER or GROUP
