2005 is nearly over. This year I’ve started a company, quit my job, deferred the end of my Masters (again), walked away from that company (and two good friends), started another company, missed two weddings (Tom & Tehm, Andy & Tahira - so sorry!), started contracting, escorted Japanese wrestlers and their entourage through Coventry, done things I’d never have thought I’d done (hello Sophie!), moved house three times and seen my honorary-niece learn to say “Howard”. It’s been a wake-up call of a year.
Total Film use what they call the “Predicted Interest Curve” to plot how entertained you might be while watching a film. With all apologies to them, I present the “Recorded Mood Curve” for my 2005. Rather than measuring entertainment, it measures (using a cut-down Benrik system) my mood across the year from Depressed through So-So, Fine, thank you! and Over the moon.
Those of you who journeyed 2005 with me will recognise some of those peaks and troughs. If you were there for the troughs then thank you. You’re good people and I genuinely couldn’t have done it without you. Here’s looking to lots of peaks in 2006!
Happy New Orbit!
Update: Someone pointed out that it would be more sensible to wish for a high plateau rather than a series of peaks (which imply, of course, a series of troughs to go with them!).
